The Christmas season may be winding down, but that means spring is right around the corner. (Really, it is!) So here at Comstock, our own giving season is just just getting going! We’ve recently begun making seed donations, some of them quite sizable, like one rece0ntly made to the Hartford Food System/Grow Hartford, in Hartford, Connecticut. http://www.hartfordfood.org/n/programs/grow-hartford-n.html
We love to make seed donations to community gardens, school programs, residential care facilities, correctional institutions, and church missions–pretty much any not-for-profit use!
To request a donation, we ask that potential recipients send a hard-copy letter of inquiry to us at the main address–no emails, please. Outline the not-for-profit nature of your work, let us know what your needs are, and where to send the donation. We will send you the seeds, based upon availability, as quickly as possible. (We do strongly recommend that donation requests be made well in advance of the anticipated planting time, since requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.)
And of course, we love to receive photos of the gardens donation recipients grow with our seeds. We like to post them on our blog, as we did last summer with photos from the Guilford, Connecticut, community garden.
