(Solanum melongena) 20 seeds per packet (unless otherwise noted). Sow in hotbed in February or March, and when 2 or 3 inches high, thin to 3 inches apart, or transplant into other beds or singly in pots. Transplant to open ground in May in rows 3 feet apart, leaving 2 feet between plants. Requires light, warm soil for quick development.
