Come and visit our 19th century retail store and the homeplace of Wethersfield Seed Gardens. Comstock, Ferre & Co. has a colorful agricultural history and is the oldest seed company in New England. Time has left its mark, upon the farm fields of Connecticut being replaced with a grid of development and interstates. However, Comstock, Ferre & Co. has stood the test of time. Despite it's being in the cross-hairs for demolition, we have helped it to rise again as a vibrant seed house offering heirloom varieties to New England and to all of North America. You can read more of our history in Comstock's 2012 Seed Guide.
Make plans to visit us June 3, 2012, for our second annual Heirloom Festival that will also mark the 201st anniversary of the company's founding. You will listen to presentations by acclaimed speakers, admire 19th-century costumes, enjoy old-fashioned music, and more. You will want to participate in our small farmer's market we will have on site and to stock up on seedlings grown in our greenhouse from seeds of the Baker Creek and Comstock lines of seed.
